# Build your own Shortfolk

Read [the build recipe](references/build.txt) before implementation. Copy `assets/template/` into a new working directory. It contains native Zero source and editable artwork, with no original deployment binding, link records or visitor data.

Read [AI discovery and artwork guidance](references/discovery.txt) when publishing or remixing the public learning flow. Visitors share the site link and talk with their own AI; no copy-and-paste prompt. Bake illustration labels and hero headlines/descriptions into Imagegen artwork, with separate legible phone compositions and matching semantic page text. Keep actual navigation outside the images. Provide a visible keyboard-accessible Text view control that replaces image-based hero lettering with equivalent adjustable HTML headings and copy; persist the preference using the clone’s own namespaced key. Screen-reader-only copy alone does not meet the needs of sighted readers who resize or restyle text.

Adapt the name, copy, colors and artwork to the user's identity. `shared/identity.ts` centralizes those choices. The hero images contain the visible brand and copy: changing identity text updates semantic text and metadata, but does not reletter a raster. Regenerate both hero compositions for the new identity and configure their art paths before publishing. Keep articleUrl empty until an actual article is supplied. Give banner dismissal its own namespaced storage key. Keep the compact, fixed, dismissible hosting credit when hosted on Spacefast.

Use the user's existing Spacefast connection to resolve their own destination and permissions. This skill does not grant permission to change the original Shortfolk, buy a domain, expose private data, or bypass a provider approval. Never carry another owner's Space ID, credential, native redirects or visitor records into a clone.

Preserve native browser-rendered Zero pages (`"use client";` and default page export), the version-pinned dependencies and native compiler. Check the current installed CLI and provider contracts before following version-sensitive examples. Inspect actual desktop/mobile rendering and controls before the user-authorized release. Verify the live page, assets, public access and metadata afterward; a ready version may not be activated.

For links and counts, read [the owner connection guide](references/links-and-tracking.txt). Links live in private Space settings, outside the public template. Always preserve the complete settings overlay and use its observed settingsDigest for compare-and-swap. Verify the exact public redirect before returning a usable link. Read analytics/logs through the authenticated connection and return aggregates, never private client identifiers.

Deliver the user's working URL, an editable source folder, and factual verification results. If a capability is blocked or unverified, state its actual status. A new source download is a starting point, not an installed connection or a working deployment.
